Terms of Use

Last updated: May 15, 2026

These Terms of Use ("terms") explain the rules for using the Probe it Food Safety website at probeit.ca, our store at shop.probeit.ca, and our online learning system. By visiting our site, creating an account, or buying a course, you agree to these terms. Please read them before you start.

1. About this site and our learning system

Probe it Food Safety operates probeit.ca, shop.probeit.ca, and the related online learning system where courses are delivered, exams are taken, and certificates are issued. Probe it Food Safety is a division of Probe IT Workplace Training Inc.

2. About these terms

These terms apply every time you use any part of our site or learning system. If you keep using the site after we update these terms, you're agreeing to the new version. We'll show the date at the top so you can tell when something changed.

Some sections of the site (such as specific courses, employer accounts, or special promotions) may have additional rules. If you use those sections, those extra rules apply along with these main terms.

3. Who can use Probe it

Probe it courses are built for adults entering or already working in food service, retail, hospitality, schools, and similar workplaces. Anyone preparing for or working in a role that needs food handler or WHMIS certification is welcome to register.

You need to give us accurate information when you sign up. Your name and email will appear on your certificate, so check them before you start.

4. Your account and login

You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share your login with anyone else. Each course you buy is for one person. If someone else uses your account to take your course or exam, your certificate can be cancelled, and the account can be closed.

5. What you can and can't do with our content

We give you a personal, limited right to use the site, the courses, and the materials inside them — but only for your own learning and only the way we present them on the site.

You can't:

  • Copy, download, or save course videos, slides, or text outside of what the system normally allows
  • Share course content with other people, including coworkers, friends, or employees
  • Reverse engineer, modify, translate, or rebuild the course or any part of it
  • Repost, resell, or republish any part of the course online or offline
  • Use Probe it content to train other people

If you want to use our content in a way that isn't covered above, contact us and we'll talk.

6. Who owns the content

All the videos, text, quizzes, certificates, graphics, course design, and the Probe it name and logos are owned by Probe IT Workplace Training Inc. They're protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law.

When you register an account, you give us permission to mention you (by first name and last initial) in customer testimonials and reviews if you've sent us one. We won't use your full name, photo, or contact details for marketing without your written okay.

7. Linking to our site

You're welcome to link to our home page (probeit.ca or shop.probeit.ca) from your own website using a plain text link — no agreement needed.

Linking to internal pages, framing our site inside another site, replicating our content, or using our name or logo without permission is not allowed. Don't suggest a partnership or endorsement that doesn't exist.

8. Links to other sites

Our site sometimes links to outside websites — for example, provincial public health authorities, Health Canada, or the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. These links are for your convenience. We don't control those sites, and we're not responsible for what's on them. Their privacy and terms are their own.

9. Comments and feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about our courses or site, you agree that we can use them in any way we want — including building them into our courses or sharing them publicly — without paying you or asking again. Don't send us anything you want to keep private.

10. Updates and changes

We may change, add, or remove parts of the courses, the site, or these terms at any time. We try to keep the courses up to date with the latest Canadian public health standards, but information on the site can change without notice. For anything you'll act on (like a regulatory question), check with your local health authority too.

11. What we don't guarantee

We work hard to keep the site working, the content accurate, and the system secure. But we can't promise:

  • The site will always be online or error-free
  • Files we send or that you upload will be virus-free
  • The system will work perfectly on every device or browser
  • The information will never have a mistake or be out of date

If something breaks or you spot an error, tell us at support@probeit.ca, and we'll fix it.

12. Our responsibility — and its limit

If we're responsible for something going wrong, our responsibility is limited to actual, direct damages. We're not responsible for indirect losses — like a missed job offer, lost wages, lost business, or lost data — caused by a problem with the site or a course. The most we'll ever owe you for one issue is the amount you paid us for the course connected to it.

13. Refunds

Course purchases are non-refundable. Full details are in our Refund Policy, including how course transfers and technical issues work.

14. Electronic communications

When you use our site or buy a course, you agree to get communications from us electronically — by email, by text message if you've given us your phone number, or as messages inside your account. Things like receipts, certificate notifications, account updates, and policy changes count as electronic communications.

15. Which laws apply

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes between you and Probe it Food Safety will be handled in Ontario courts.
